No maps is better than a bad map cause it can lead you to a hole that can cause all kind of loss with the confidence that you have something that is leading you to where you want to be.
Visualizing is harder than analyzing but there are some skills that makes it much easier to make beautiful maps. As GIS analysts we need to have cartographic skills too because that’s what will make our maps understandable and admirable to the public.
When little, I could spend minutes staring and admiring wonderful maps from ATLAS. Going to the Legend, Graphs and the map seeing how perfect and detailed the maps could be. I had no idea it was GIS, All I knew it was art. Well it was art.
